Denial concentrates attention. A few days without permission makes ordinary touch enormous, and the arrangement carries on when nobody is in the room — which is the point for a lot of couples.

A day with no cage at all: permission simply withdrawn, on trust. If that holds, a soft cage for an evening at home before anything overnight.

What to watch

Come out daily at first and check for pinching, colour and swelling. A spare key exists and is in the building. Any sharp pain, numbness or discolouration means it comes off now, not after the negotiation.
